Bush compares Iraq to Vietnam. Now, I've heard Iraq compared to Vietnam many times before. But Bush has a really unique angle here: he believes that pulling out of Vietnam was a tragic mistake.

Didn’t he manage to avoid combat during Vietnam? Or am I mistaken?
You are correct.
I was afraid so. *heavy sigh*
Ho Chi Minh
Vietnam was a military victory, for most intents and purposes. The fighting was basically over after we clobbered them during Tet. The South never really had the ability to sustain an army, and after we pulled out, they were vulnerable. We refused to send troops back, conceding that as a cold war loss, and the North regrouped ran over the South and begat a hollywood musical.
