I've been mean to post this for more than 14 months now, but here are some pictures of rock that I gave Alisa for our engagement. Because I'm a dork and had to find an extra-magical diamond, I hunted one down with the rare property that it turns slightly blue in direct sunlight (as demonstrated in the first two pictures). Under most other lighting conditions, it appears colorless.

It should also turn _bright_ blue under black light. How bright depends on how florescent it is though.
Very nice setting and stone.

It does. Great fun anyplace that uses a black light for lighting.
We picked up a pen-blacklight to play with at home.

Re: blue
Cool. I’d like to see that effect in person before I bought one that did that though.

Re: blue
I felt the same way. They’re virtually impossible to find in consumer diamond/jewelry stores. However, online diamond stores typically have great return policies. I actually bought 3 diamonds from jamesallen.com with different levels of fluorescence and returned 2. I got the setting separately from a more conventional in-person jewelry store.
Re: blue
Cool. Their 18x view is nice too. Much easier to use then a hand loup, easier on the eyes too.
