Tranquility

As I fly through the air,
feeling the cool, moist breeze
flow through my lazy hair,
I watch Mother Nature.

Looking down, the multicolored
trees of autumn rush by
in a myriad of blur
the reds, yellows, greens.
flood my senses with their richness,
as reflected in the warm sunshine, which
gradually sinks into the fireblood of the soul.

Passing on into an open field,
a girl is playing; frolicking through the goldenrod.
enjoying the pure peace of afternoon.
She sees me, and waves.

I pass on into night; the moon and stars
light up the sky, silently dancing,
while the world sleeps.
Crickets chirp, an owl hoots,
the world seems like a river, flowing through
the ideologies of time.

Dawn breaks, and I move to a beachfront to
watch the old friend, rise to the waking Gaia.
a young couple is there, learning; coupling
the true solidarity of otherhood. I smile,
remembering when I
        was singular.
